Starbucks Lessons
Starbucks lessons: Two things I learned in my time with the brand and that I love seeing in the wild.
First, how data is used to build the emotional connection between customer and partner. I haven't visited in a couple weeks and was greeted with this message upon picking up my order. Who knows if it's true, but what a great way to empower the partner to use my loyalty data. So simple, so easy to do and so on brand.
Second, the storytelling found on the packaging. The 2021 Anniversary Blend packaging is a stunner. There is luminance detail in the hair and a coffee tree branch with gold leaves that jump off the mellow green bag. The art makes nods to 50 years all over it. I'll leave you to go seek it out. But it's beautiful and worthy of it's place in the store. Though 2015 remains my favorite (I may have leaked it...).
Both of these experiences kicked my morning off on a positive note.
